Creative costuming is a passion for Autumn Fagenbaum, and one that she credits for gaining confidence enough to conquer her stage fright and helping her to create a new circle of friends who share her love of costume design.

Autumn is 20 years old, a resident of Wheatfield and works part-time at the DeMotte and Wheatfield Libraries. During the months of July and August, the Wheatfield Library is proud to display Autumn’s costume collection on the library’s artwall.

‘Cosplay’ is the art of creating costumes that are replicas of favorite characters from books, movies, comics, anime or podcasts. Autumn creates her costumes from left over fabric, bedsheets and curtains or recycles old clothing, and applies duct tape or other materials as embellishments to the costumes that she crafts. Costumes that have been crafted may then be entered in competitions. Autumn has placed on several occasions in these Cosplay competitions.

Autumn is also interested in photography and multi-media art.

Don’t miss the opportunity to stop in the library this summer and check out this awesome display of imagination and color! If you have a photography or art collection that would be appropriate to share with the community, contact the Wheatfield Library at 956-3774.
