Rensselaer Library cancellations and schedule changes

Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendly

During the recent extremely cold temperatures, the Rensselaer Library experienced broken water lines within the library due to frozen pipes in the library’s ceiling.

The staff areas were the most severely impacted so staff work stations have been relocated to library meeting rooms so that staff areas may be repaired, repainted, and re-carpeted.

Since the library meeting rooms are not accessible for library programs, some upcoming programs for the months of January and February have been cancelled.

In Adult Services, all programs have been cancelled with the exception of the library’s Winter Reading Program, which will resume when the library reopens to the public, Blood Pressure Screenings, slated for Wednesday, February 12, 10-10:30 am, and the Adult Book Discussion, slated to be held on Thursday, January 23 @ 1 pm, which has been relocated to the Carnegie Center in Rensselaer.

In Children’s Services, Story Time for 2-5 Year Olds, held each Monday, January 20 & 27 and February 10-24 at 10 am & 2 pm, will resume as planned. All other children’s programs are cancelled until further notice.

Please check your local newspapers and radio broadcasts for further information regarding the status of the library’s reopening and updates on upcoming program information.
