The Destiny Trilogy opens on the lovely Croatian countryside in the late 1800’s, where an infant, near death, miraculously survives. So begins Katya’s journey in “Destiny’s Dowry,” continuing in “Destiny Denied” and concluding in “Destiny’s Dance,” all written by Rosemary Gard.

On Monday, October 20 @ 6:30 pm, the DeMotte Library cordially invites all interested adults to enjoy a visit from Northwest Indiana native, Rosemary Gard, as she takes us on a journey through her Destiny trilogy, bringing the characters of this family saga to life by describing their adventures, loves, losses, triumphs and tragedies from the late 1800’s to the year 1909.

Rosemary Gard grew up in Gary, Indiana, which she describes as ‘the melting pot of cultures.’ Exposure to the Slavic peoples of Gary, along with a three month visit to Yugoslavia, inspired Rosemary to bring the facts and events that she experienced to life in these works of fiction.

Held in the library’s East Meeting room and sponsored by the Friends of the DeMotte Library, this program is free and will include time for purchase of the author’s books and autographing by the author.

Registration is appreciated, and is available online at www.myjcpl.org/events or by visiting or calling the DeMotte Library at 987-2221.
