Wi-Fi

In addition to the computers we provide at each branch for patron use, each branch also offers a hotspot for access to the Internet for wireless-enabled laptops and other devices. This wi-fi network is available daily from 7am to 9pm. We typically run maintenance processes on our wireless network on Sundays around 8am. The wireless network may be unavailable for a few minutes while these updates occur.

Use of the Library's wireless network implies acceptance of the Library's patron use agreement.

Printing

JCPL now features PrinterOn wireless printing from anywhere!

1. Begin by visiting http://www.myjcpl.org/webprint
2. Choose your printer
   • Rensselaer BW Printer
   • Rensselaer Color Printer
   • Wheatfield BW Printer
   • Wheatfield Color Printer
   • DeMotte BW Printer
   • DeMotte Color Printer
3. Under User Info, enter your email address or full name - this will be used to identify your documents at pickup
4. Browse your computer to find and select the file you wish to print
5. Click the forward icon (triangle) and follow the steps until the green print icon appears.
6. Click the green print icon.
7. You will see the status of your print job and a reference number.
8. Within 72 hours, come to the front desk at the library.
9. Ask staff to release your PrinterOn Print Job
10. Tell them the email address or name you supplied
11. All pages printed will be 5 cents for black and white, 20 cents for color, single-sided printing only.

1. Install the PrinterOn App from your device’s app store by visiting your app store
2. Open the PrinterOn App
3. Click No Printer Selected
4. Click the search icon
5. Search for myjcpl. You will see listings for all three JCPL printers at DeMotte, Rensselaer and Wheatfield.
6. Click the printer you wish to use OR
   • Click the info icon of the printer you wish to use and click the star to Save the printer. Click the arrow to return to the printer list, then click the printer you wish to use.
7. You can now print photos and web pages from the app, as well as many documents stored on your device, including PDFs.
   • To print a document (Android and iOS 8+): Open the app, click on “document” and select the document to print. Or when viewing the document, in Android  click the print icon in the upper right corner and upload the document to the PrinterOn App.
   • To print a document (iOS): When viewing select documents, if you have the option to “open in” you should find PrinterOn as one of the options to open in, and you can then print from the app.
   • To print a photo from your phone: Open the app, click on “photo” and select a photo to print.
   • To print from the web: Open the app, click “web” and enter the URL of the page you wish to print.
8. Click the print icon in the lower right corner
9. Enter your email address or full name - this will be used to identify your documents at pickup - and click on the check mark
10. You will receive a notice that the job has started, and shortly after another message stating “Job Success”
    Within 72 hours, come to the front desk at the library.
11. Ask staff to release your PrinterOn Print Job
12. Tell them the email address or name you supplied
13. All pages printed will be 5 cents for black and white, 20 cents for color, single-sided printing only.
