September is a busy month for you…and for the library!

The entire month of September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and at JCPL we want to be sure everyone has the best card around! As an incentive, we are giving away free prizes to anyone getting a card. And for those who already have library cards, we are holding weekly drawings if you use it…things don’t get much easier than that!

September 22-28 is also Banned Books Week. Did you know that the Captain Underpants series what the most challenged book(s) in 2012? Started in 1982, Banned Books Week is “the national book community's annual celebration of the freedom to read.” More information can be found at the library's Banned Books Week page.

A couple of our libraries are also getting teens involved in redecorating the teen areas this month. Check out our upcoming programs -- Teen Designs at Rensselaer and Picture Perfect at DeMotte, both on September 10th, and express your artistic talents for others to see.

Keep in mind that all 3 branches of JCPL offer fun programs throughout the school year…be sure to check out what we have going on!
